Genspark vs Strawberry

Read the full Strawberry review →Comparison Summary
Strawberry scored 6.2 and Genspark scored 5.0 on our AI browser test script.
These are the two free agents in our tests that actually click and type, and Strawberry is clearly the better one. It completed seven of our eight tasks, including a sourced slide deck, a scheduled routine and the tricky form with all eleven fields right. Genspark completed three, partly did three, failed the routine and the deck, and on the tricky form reported two empty fields as filled. Both clicked “Add to basket” when asked to buy a book, without asking first.
Neither is light on Windows. Strawberry adds two hidden Windows accounts that survive uninstalling and needs twice Edge's memory; Genspark stays close to Edge on memory but takes 2.1 GB on disk, opens inbound firewall rules for a bundled proxy engine and runs a Chrome 141 engine. Strawberry scored 6.2 and Genspark 5.0.

Pros and cons
Genspark
+ What works
- The free agent acts in the browser: it navigated release-note pages, filled and submitted a test form in about 30 seconds and read pages itself
- Three of eight tasks fully right, all with sources, on a free account
- 100 free credits a day covered all eight tasks with 29 to spare, and the balance is shown on every new tab
- Admitted plainly when a routine failed and checked that nothing was left behind
- Signed installer and uninstaller; crash reporting is opt-in with nothing pre-ticked
- Built-in ad blocker; YouTube loaded without the cookie wall the other browsers hit
− What falls short
- Built on Chrome 141 with a build date of October 11, 2026, while Chrome was at 156: the engine is about a year of security fixes behind
- On the tricky form it left two fields empty but told us the confirmation showed them filled
- Clicked “Add to basket” without asking when we asked it to buy a book
- No slide deck: it asked a question, said in-chat decks need a paid plan and the free path stalled
- About 2.1 GB on disk after installing, with three Windows services and three inbound firewall rules for all networks, including one for a bundled proxy engine
- After uninstalling, two update services, 227 MB of updater files and two open firewall rules stay behind
- Every new tab opens Genspark's workspace with upgrade promotions
Strawberry
+ What works
- Did 7 of our 8 scripted tasks in full: five web tasks in under a minute each (29–52 s), a sourced slide deck and an 11-field tricky form
- Works in real, visible browser tabs and keeps a step-by-step trace you can expand and review
- Reports honestly: it said "no order was placed" and "not stated" instead of inventing results
- Answers arrive as clean tables with Copy and Export buttons
- The Free plan was enough for our whole test: 48 credits used, no card asked
− What falls short
- Creates two enabled local Windows accounts (StrawberrySbxOffline/Online) via an admin "sandbox helper" and does not remove them on uninstall
- Filled in the tester’s name, job title, company and city during onboarding without being given them
- Heavy on memory: 5.3 GB for ten tabs against 2.4 GB in Edge on the same PC, and 1.7 s to open a window against 0.7 s
- About 565 MB of data and cached installer left on disk after uninstalling, and the uninstaller offers no option to delete your data
- Long onboarding (about nine screens) with nudges to import your browser and give a five-minute interview
- Treated “buy it” as permission to act: it clicked “Add to basket” without asking first

Genspark
An outdated browser engine
Genspark Browser 1.10.159, built October 11, 2026, reports Chrome 141 and V8 14.1. Google's stable Chrome was 156 that day. Genspark does not say whether it back-ports security fixes, so assume a year of Chromium fixes may be missing.
Inbound firewall rules for bundled helpers
The installer adds three inbound allow rules on all network profiles: mDNS for the browser, and any-port rules for a bundled Node.js server and a bundled proxy engine (mihomo). The helpers only listened on the PC itself in our test, but the two any-port rules stay after uninstalling.
Services that start with Windows
An update service set to start automatically, a second update service and an elevation service are installed. After uninstalling with the defaults, both update services and 227 MB of updater files remain. No Windows user accounts were created.
A report that did not match the page
On our practice form the site's confirmation showed Gender and Hobbies empty, but the agent said they were filled. It also clicked “Add to basket” without asking when told to buy a book. Check its work before relying on it.
Identifies itself as Google Chrome
Websites see the browser as “Google Chrome” 141 in its user agent and client hints. It also sends the Global Privacy Control signal.
Signed installer and uninstaller
Both are signed by Genspark Inc. Crash reporting is opt-in, with nothing pre-ticked, and the uninstaller offers to delete browsing data (unticked by default).
Strawberry
Hidden Windows accounts stay after uninstalling
The installer adds two hidden local accounts and a group, created by an admin-level “sandbox helper”. Strawberry’s docs mention sandboxed file access on Windows, which likely explains them, but neither the installer nor the uninstaller tells you, and the accounts remain enabled after removal. See the clean-up steps above.
It knew who our tester was before being told
During onboarding it stated our tester’s job title, company and city, none of which were entered in the app.
Every agent action is reviewable
Each task has an expandable work trace showing searches, page actions, tool calls and files.
